It’s pink blossom, baby! That wonderful 3-4 days in Edmonton when the trees are blooming. Vancouver sees nice pink blossoms in April, but we have to wait until late May. Most people call these cherry blossoms, but most of the pink blossom trees in Edmonton are actually crabapple trees. Personally, I don’t mind what you call them! They’re beautiful, and fleeting, and signify the official start to spring. Now for the most important question….when are they at their best? I wish I had a great answer for you, but it’s always a ‘wait and see’ situation. Typically, May long weekend, or around the 25th of May is a good time for these blossoms. Unfortunately it can also coincide with wet weather! My recommendation to guarantee beautiful pink blossoms in your spring family photos is to book off two dates. That way if the weather isn’t great or the blossoms aren’t full, you’ll have a backup! I limit my sessions around this time of year so that I can ensure to have availability. The blossoms were perfect for a one year session with this cute little baby and her family. Such joy in spring time!
